Read Time:2 Minute, 59 Second

In the vast and vibrant canvas of Hindu spirituality, Lord Hanuman is universally worshipped as the epitome of devotion, strength, and celibacy. Yet, the Parashara Samhita unveils a profound truth that transforms our understanding of this beloved deity. It portrays Hanuman not merely as a devoted servant of Lord Rama, but as the singular, conscious vessel of the universe’s ten primordial powers—the Dash Mahavidyas.

The Dash Mahavidyas are the ten wisdom goddesses who embody the complete spectrum of reality, ranging from the fierce grace of dissolution to the benevolent bliss of creation. They are often revered as distinct deities for specific spiritual practices. However, the secret revealed in the Agama texts is that Hanuman, in his cosmic form (Vishvarupa), represents the harmonious integration of all their energies. He is the living, dynamic synthesis of their collective power.

This connection is not a mere superficial link but a deep, tantric mapping of divine attributes onto the essence of the Maruti Sutra:

Maa Kali: Hanuman’s immense, terrifying power to vanquish demons like Mahiravana mirrors the raw, unyielding force of Maa Kali herself. He embodies the Shakti that eradicates ignorance without hesitation.

Maa Tara: His role as the remover of obstacles (Sankat Mochan) and his profound scriptural knowledge, bestowed by the Sun god, reflect Tara’s salvific wisdom and guiding light—the star that ferries devotees across the ocean of worldly existence.

Maa Tripura Sundari: The divine beauty and bliss of Shri Rama’s kingdom (Ram Rajya), which Hanuman safeguards, is a manifestation of Tripura Sundari, the goddess of supreme beauty and harmony. His devotion beautifies the world.

Maa Bhuvaneshwari: As the guardian of Lanka following Vibhishana’s coronation and the master of herbs (Oshadhi-Chintaka), Hanuman channels the energy of Bhuvaneshwari, the sovereign queen of the entire cosmos (Bhuvana).

Maa Chhinnamasta: Hanuman’s act of tearing open his chest to reveal Sita and Rama within parallels Maa Chhinnamasta’s self-sacrifice. It symbolizes the ultimate mystery: when the individual soul (Atman) is severed from ego, it encompasses the entire universe (Brahman).

Maa Dhumavati: His presence in desolate places, his resilience in adversity, and his role as a harbinger of warning (such as the burning of Lanka) echo the inauspicious yet truthful essence of Maa Dhumavati. He represents the power that endures steadfastly in barrenness.

Maa Bagalamukhi: Hanuman’s ability to stun and silence adversaries with his roar, paralyzing their speech and actions, embodies the power of Bagalamukhi, who neutralizes enemies and negative forces.

Maa Matangi: His mastery over speech, mantras, and flawless communication—with Sita, Rama, and even Ravana—aligns him with Matangi, the goddess of empowered expression, music, and knowledge.

Maa Kamalatmika: The prosperity of Ayodhya’s glory and the divine grace of Rama’s blessings, which Hanuman protects and bestows upon devotees, are the bestowals of Maa Kamalatmika, the goddess of fortune and fulfillment, who is none other than Lakshmi.

Maa Bhairavi: The tenth Mahavidya, the fierce annihilator of time and ego, is fully manifest in Hanuman’s invincible warrior spirit, his conquest over death (as Mrityunjaya), and his burning of illusions through the fire of pure devotion.

Thus, worshipping Hanuman with true insight is far more than invoking a powerful deity—it is calling upon the consolidated grace of all the ten Mahavidyas. He is the one who unites the fierce with the gentle, the destructive with the creative, and the terrifying with the beautiful. In Hanuman’s form, devotees find a single, accessible gateway to the Supreme Mother’s tenfold path, establishing him as the ultimate tantric protector and the complete granter of all spiritual accomplishments.

Jai Bajrangbali! Jai Dash Mahavidya Swarupa Hanuman!
